About Us

Fairfax County Revitalization encourages and facilitates the renewal of older commercial and residential areas.

In concert with many community programs and infrastructure improvements, our initiatives strive to foster a sense of place.

On Oct. 29, 1998, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors amended the Zoning Ordinance to create five Commercial Revitalization Districts (Annandale, Bailey’s, McLean, Richmond Highway, Springfield) and two Commercial Revitalization Areas (Lake Anne, Merrifield).

Fairfax County Supports a Multilevel Effort

The Fairfax County Office of Community Revitalization and Reinvestment is the lead agency for the revitalization programs.

Policies and programs are brought to the Board of Supervisors Community Revitalization and Reinvestment Committee. The Community Revitalization and Reinvestment Advisory Group (CRRAG) was established by the Board of Supervisors to provide advice and feedback from the public's perspective to the Office.
