Getting it Right: Innovative Approaches to Revitalizing Retail
The Fairfax County Office of Community Revitalization (OCR) held its free annual conference on Monday, October 22, 2012 in the Board Room of the Fairfax County Government Center. The conference focused on innovative approaches and strategies to create a vibrant pedestrian oriented retail environment. Conference attendees explored the evolving face of retail and how a community vision can transition into a vibrant retail environment. Speaker presented the DC Vibrant Streets Toolkit which contains essential elements of outstanding retail areas, and a case study of the recently opened Mosaic at Merrifield Retail District was discussed by a distinguished panel. In addition, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors' Chairman Sharon Bulova and Providence District Supervisor Linda Smyth shared their thoughts. Information recapping the conference can be found below.
