As one of Fairfax County’s main business corridors, Richmond Highway, boasts seven and one half miles of commercial and residential development along U.S. Route 1, which has seen much expansion in recent years.
With Woodlawn Plantation and Mount Vernon nearby, the area is also a tourist destination. Just seven miles outside of Washington, D.C., the district begins immediately south of the City of Alexandria and ends adjacent to the United States Army’s Fort Belvoir.
