Springfield Community Roundtable
Press Release
Feb. 17, 2005

The Springfield Civic Association is inviting community leaders, organizations, schools and government agency representatives which have a direct impact on central Springfield -- specifically to the core of ZIP code 22150, its residential area, revitalization district and commercial corridor -- to attend the first Central Springfield Community Roundtable.

The roundtable/dinner will take place Thursday evening, March 31st, 2005 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the American Legion Post 176, located at: 6520 Amherst Avenue in Springfield . The SCA recognizes the growth, diversity and needs, yet distinct and positive qualities of our community, and hope to discuss these dynamics at the roundtable.

The purpose of the roundtable is to:

• Get to know each organization better

• Establish ongoing communication with one another

• Collaborate on future community initiatives

• Community relations and outreach

Please join Tawny Hammond, SCA President, a Special Guest as Keynote Speaker, members of the SCA Board, and I for an evening that includes meeting and mixing, dinner of salad, entrée (chicken or beef, with 2 sides), dessert and beverage/coffee, and important lively discussion.

The cost is only $12 per person. Reserve your place ASAP by calling 703-569-7785 or e-mail me at: rickgonzalez@hotmail.com , and please RSVP by COB March 18th as space is limited. We look forward to your being a part of this important event and its positive outcomes for our community.
